EMDR Therapy

Gently Rewire Trauma

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is a powerful, evidence-based approach for healing the effects of trauma, anxiety, and overwhelming life experiences. It offers a way to process stuck emotional material—without needing to relive or retell every painful detail.

EMDR supports your nervous system’s natural ability to heal. With the right support, your mind and body can release the lingering charge of past experiences so they no longer control your present. This work isn’t about forgetting—it’s about remembering differently, with more spaciousness, insight, and peace.

What Is EMDR?

EMDR helps the brain process distressing memories and sensations that have become “frozen” in time.

When something overwhelming happens—especially in childhood or in situations where you felt powerless—your nervous system may not fully integrate the experience. Instead, it gets stored in a fragmented, emotionally charged way, often leading to symptoms like anxiety, flashbacks, emotional reactivity, or chronic tension.

Through the use of bilateral stimulation—such as eye movements, tapping, or alternating tones—EMDR gently activates both hemispheres of the brain. This stimulation, paired with mindful attention, supports your system in reprocessing the memory. It’s as if your body and mind finally get the chance to finish what they couldn’t finish back then.

You don’t have to go into every detail. You don’t have to relive the pain. With EMDR, healing is possible in a way that’s grounded, contained, and deeply attuned to your readiness.

EMDR Can Help You:

  • Reprocess traumatic memories so they feel less charged or overwhelming

  • Reduce anxiety, panic attacks, phobias, or chronic worry

  • Shift long-held beliefs like “I’m not safe,” “It was my fault,” or “I’m not enough”

  • Heal from relational or developmental trauma stored in the body

  • Access a greater sense of wholeness, resilience, and emotional regulation

A Somatic and Relational Approach to EMDR

In our work together, EMDR won’t be a mechanical protocol—it will be a collaborative process that moves at your pace.

I integrate somatic awareness, nervous system support, and deep attunement to help you stay grounded and connected throughout the work. Your body will lead, not force. We’ll prepare thoroughly so you feel resourced and safe before moving into deeper processing.

Whether you’re working through one specific event or a more complex web of early attachment wounds, EMDR offers a way to move forward without getting lost in the past.

EMDR May Be Especially Supportive If You:

  • Have tried talk therapy but still feel stuck or emotionally activated

  • Struggle with memories that continue to surface, even when you “know better”

  • Experience unexplained emotional reactions or body sensations

  • Want to resolve trauma not only intellectually, but emotionally and physiologically

  • Long to move beyond survival into a sense of freedom, clarity, and choice

Trauma doesn’t have to define your story. The past doesn’t have to keep playing out in your nervous system. EMDR offers a way to release what’s no longer needed—so you can live with more ease, wholeness, and trust in yourself.
